Hey folks! This weekend marks my birthday and since you folks keep giving me the huge gift of showing up to read my stuff, I’m marking 34 by giving one of you a present.

Most of you know I love learning about new stuff, right? Well as I’ve been starting out on The Superhero Sex Shop Tour  I realized there was something in all the shops that I knew nothing about – harnesses. Clearly this had to change, pronto. So, I looked around and started where I usually start: What’s the pretty one? (don’t judge me) I found a gorgeous harness called Sasha (Seriously- rawr!). Then I asked Twitter: What do folks like? I got a ringing endorsement for the Tomboi harness. Finally I did what I always do, saw what the reviewers had to say. According to Epiphora (my go-to on such matters) the Joque might be the only harness one ever needs.

Funny story: All of those harnesses are made by SpareParts HardWare.

So, I headed over to Good Vibrations in Brookline MA (What’s up GV?! Miss you guys already!) and looked at some harnesses for myself. I learned some of the ins and outs (as it were) of straps and o-rings and bullet vibe pockets and things that chafe and one strap, two strap and panty styles and I came away from that experience in full agreement with the SpareParts enthusiasts.

That’s right, I went from completely harness-ignorant to having a favorite harness company in the space of a week. That’s how I roll. So, clearly, now I want to share what I’ve learned with you, but let’s do it in the funnest possible way -okay maybe not the funnest possible way but a really fun way…

Super comfortable, crazy simple (like “adjust it to fit you once and then never futz around with it again” simple), completely washable, able to accomodate dildos of, from what I can tell, just about any size (with or without balls), able to hold 2 bullet vibes, available in 2 (rather broad) sizes and several colors and, like SpareParts products tend to be, just crazy well-made and packed with thoughtful details.
