Review: Fun Factory Stronic Eins Pulsator – A Bedtime Story (with orgasms)

favoriteround

Note: If you like the Eins be sure to check out the Drei as well!

So, my journey with the Fun Factory Stronic Eins started when I visited Babeland’s Lower East Side location and Claire Cavanah and I stood, transfixed staring at one. The sentence “this is the dream…” was uttered. Suffice it to say, an impression was made. So, when my friends over at Babeland (love them!) offered me one to test I said “Hells freaking yes!!!” “That would be lovely, thank you so very much”

So, what’s the deal with this toy?

Simply put, Stronic Eins does not vibrate. There’s a solid metal weight moving inside a hollow body. The idea here is that it thrusts…There’s a pretty YouTube video that tells you nothing about the product but does a good job of demonstrating what happens when things look phallic, thrust and sometimes both.

How does it work?4387-c-stronic-pulsator

This piece of beauty is rechargeable with a nifty magnetic charger. The rumor is 16 hour charge time = 3 hours use. I charged it when I got it and haven’t had to since and it’s been getting used a bunch so I’d say that number is conservative. Anyway, it holds a charge well. There are 10 modes with silly names that I never remember opting instead to be like “oooh the – – – ——— one!” (this is my brain on sex toys) The controls are great- hit the button that says “Fun” to turn it on and off  and the plus and minus buttons (BUTTONS!!) to change modes. It will not cycle through the modes (unless I’m doing something wrong) though. This seems to be because, apparently, the minus button leads to the “algorithmic” modes, while the plus button leads to the “constant” and “dynamic” modes. I really don’t get that but I also don’t care- we’ll get to why very soon.

How does it feel?

So, the medical grade silicone has a matte finish (it can get drag-y use lube, personally I like Sliquid Organics Gel) and is slightly squishy, It’s downright bendy at the turned up end and in the nub by the handle.

No, seriously, how does it feel?

First, a story… While I was waiting for mine to arrive two separate friends of mine posted to facebook about using the Stronic Eins, having an orgasm, falling immediately to sleep and waking up with it still going between their legs.* I was intrigued. You see, I have this theory that masturbation is the adult equivalent of bedtime stories (remember bedtime stories?!) but for me this requires a very specific kind of masturbation.  Masturbation where I don’t have to work for it. Basically, no solo thrusting at bedtime- it’s usually like “once upon a time there was a clitoris…” . Would it be possible for the Stronic to change that? Hells freaking yes!  Indeed, it seems so.

Now I have not yet become BFFs with my g-spot so I was a little nervous about not really benefiting from this toy. Dork that I am I watched  this video (which explains the controls and the modes as well) first and it suggests using the Stronic clitorally, which, at lest for me, doesn’t really work (not strong enough) but it also suggests using it for simultaneously stimulating the clitoris and the perineum and that’s where I hit pay dirt . It’s freaking delicious. The ability to rhythmically hit both areas (as opposed to static vibrations- there’s a more “vibrator-y” mode that is apparently designed for this… not my favorite of the options) is something special.

I did eventually insert it. By that point everything was feeling pretty awesome but I was having some orgasm performance anxiety. I shouldn’t have worried. Once I relaxed, loosened my grip (you can’t hold on tight, that restricts the movement) and let the Stronic do its thing stuff was awesome. Though it’s a thrusting motion it’s not relentless g-spot pounding. Here’s the thing, I find this toy oddly soothing… So I was just laying back feeling good, getting a little sleepy (bedtime stories for grown ups!) when I came and the Stronic fell out because I was caught off guard, and pulled my hands up towards my body. That last part is key, usually when I come with a vibrator or dildo my hands are working. They are pressing the vibe against me, angling the dildo just right, basically holding everything just right so I can get to my orgasm. Really most of my body is tense. Not with the Stronic, this toy pretty much brought my orgasm to me.

Things I’m down with:
  • It’s a beautiful, well made toy and you can’t go wrong with medical-grade silicone.
  • The shape and motion are terrific for simultaneous stimulation of the clitoris and perineum (when used externally)
  • It’s quiet and the sound it does make is kind of soothing (to me at least) But really, the Stronic Eins is stealthy.
  • It’s fully submersible, which I didn’t realize at first.  I went to clean it and gasped thinking “Did I really just put a $200 sex toy under the faucet without pause?” and then realized it was totally okay to do that.
  • The thrusting motion- It does so much of the work for me.
Things that make me go grr
  • The price tag. I hate raving to you all about a toy that is so expensive.
  • The lack of any kind of storage bag. The silicone does have a tendency towards picking up fuzz and stuff and a bag would be cool for preventing that. Especially as the toy costs $200.
Silly caveats
  • Shake weight – you will think of it when you hold the Stronic, you just will.
  • It’s a super cool gadget-  As such, while the Stronic Eins can be a lot of fun to use with a partner, if your partner is at all impressed by gadgets it might be wise to give them a little time to get over the inherent coolness of this thing when no one is naked and worked up.** Seriously. Trust me on this.
