Tantus Goddess - Sometimes Love Requires Compromise

goddess We all know that I’m a big fan of high-quality body safe toys, right? Well you really can’t talk about high-quality, body safe sex toys without mentioning Tantus. The company that really put silicone sex toys on the map, Tantus is pretty badass. They make so many awesome dildos, butt plugs, cock rings and more but I was super-excited to try the Goddess Vibrator.

So, what’s the deal with this toy? So, basically it’s a silicone dildo with a cavity for inserting a bullet vibe (included) in the base.

How does it work? This one is pretty straightforward. It’s called a “vibrator” but I really approached it more like a dildo with a vibrating option. The addition of the vibe makes it a bit more functional- I used it for clitoral stimulation (sort of, but more on that later) which was lovely.

How does it feel? It’s a Tantus toy so it’s made with awesome silicone. In this case, glossy silicone which I don’t love the feeling of when I’m just hanging out holding the toy (I prefer the matte finish of something like the Cush 02) but when I used it I had to admit that the glossy silicone just moves more smoothly. The whole body of the toy has some give to it- you can squeeze it but it is pretty firm- not at all floppy.

No, seriously, how does it feel? Honestly? Lovely. That is the word that keeps coming to mind. It feels lovely. The Goddess is my first textured dildo and I was worried about that but the texture is not overpowering– it adds to the experience rather than defining it. When picking dildos I fret about girth and at 1.5′” this is perfect. I also just love the shape of the head on this toy. As I’ve mentioned, I’m still working on g-spotting but this felt terrific (and like I was making progress on operation “g-spot”) As for the vibration part of things. As you may have noticed I like really strong vibration from my toys. As the vibrations here come from a one speed watch-battery powered bullet that wasn’t happening. With the vibe on I could feel almost no vibration in the top 1/3 of the toy.

But wait!! I love the Goddess too much to let a little difference of vibration-strength opinion come between us. I knew there had to be a way to make this work! So I popped out the bullet that came with the toy and replaced it with my We-Vibe Salsa and, to be frank, boo-yah. Seriously, it was awesome. I would go so far as to say that if you own the Salsa or the Tango you want to own the Tantus goddess as well. Seriously.

Things I’m down with:

Yay silicone! And what’s more, yay for really amazing silicone from the company that put silicone sex toys on the map
The shape is amazing. From the head to the girth to the texture, everything about it works for me.
Cleaning is a breeze. Soap and water will do it but if you’re feeling intense it’s totally boilable – just remember to take out the bullet vibe!
The Goddess, like most Tantus toys, is just plain bad-ass. Seriously, Tantus toys scream “Eff that ‘novelty use only’ noise, I’m an awesome sex toy! Use me!” Also, “Tantus” is carved into the base of the toy- that’s just cool

Things that make me go grr:

I would like the vibration option to be stronger. Yes I found a work-around but I was so excited for a vibrating Tantus toy and on that front it didn’t really deliver.
