In less than a month I’ll be packing my bags and heading clear across the country to Woodhull’s Sexual Freedom Summit. If you don’t know what that is, go check it out. The schedule is kind of blowing my mind and I’m honored to be a part of it. Along with Stephen Biggs and Crista Anne, I’ll be speaking on a panel called The Monster Under The Bed: Starting the Conversation About Sex and Depression. I’m so excited to be going to the Summit – the workshops, academies, roundtables and institutes… I’m not really sure where to start- and I’m beyond thrilled to be speaking, especially about a topic so close to my heart, alongside two of my favorite colleagues.
I’m also looking forward to spending a couple of days surrounded by people who passionately think, care, talk and do. I’m looking forward to actually seeing the faces behind the avatars I see online and give real hugs to the folks I “see” through my computer daily but in the flesh rarely. However, to echo a sentiment voiced by my friend Dangerous Lilly, my introverted nature and deeply ingrained “don’t bother anyone” instincts sometimes keep me from approaching new folks but if you spot me (it’s easy, look for the hair) I promise I’d love to chat.
This trip wouldn’t be possible for me without the help of another set of colleagues I adore- the good folks at Doxy! I have made no secret of my love of their product (sometimes I get excited about things and talk about them… a lot) so I was elated when they agreed to be my travel sponsor for the Summit. If you are not familiar with Doxy, go check them out. Last year they made one of my favorite toys of the year – the original Doxy massager and this year they are gearing up to release two new products that I got to see at ANME: a badass new die-cast Doxy and an adorable little insertable toy called Skittle*. Doxy’s products are cool, they are wonderful people and I really appreciate their support. Thank you so much to Doxy for making this trip possible for me!
*So, the folks at Doxy are British and in England Skittle means something different. The toy is named for its shape.

I have my eye strongly on the new Doxy, and that Skittle thing is now also on my list. Cannot wait to see you!!
I thought of you when I saw the Skittle, probably for the same reason you thought of me when you saw the Rosa. 🙂
See you so soon!!
We’re so happy to sponsor you JoEllen, and I’m looking forward to seeing you again! Keep me off the ‘don’t bother’ list but I’m sure I’ll come and bug you before that. 😉 (Oh, and I will have Die Cast and Skittle in tow!)
You’re bringing the Doxy Die Cast?? 😀 I’ve been lusting after it for months now. I’d love to feel the new ‘thuddy’ vibrations, I hope you’ll be showing it off at Woodhull!
If you are a Doxy fan, I suspect you will be pretty impressed by the Die Cast. I’ve seen it in person at trade shows a couple times now and it is gorgeous and strong and basically the what would happen if the original Doxy was bitten by a radioactive bug and turned into a superhero #idatealotofcomicsgeeks
Yesss that’s exactly what I wanted! I actually held off on getting the original Doxy because I learned about the new version while I was still in my, “rabidly rereading every single review for the toy I’m interested in” phase, and got the Magic Wand Rechargeable instead. I figured it would be worth the wait and extra money to get one with a silicone head, plus, IT LOOKS LIKE A TINY ROBOCOP. I foresee an epic orgasm-off between the DDC and the MWR at some point…
I am SO PUMPED about the new Doxy products! The original Doxy gets a LOT of use in our house. I wish I were coming to Woodhull, but I’m looking forward to living vicariously through you and the other attendees!
